Images and copyright

If you want to use images, that you haven't created yourself, in your work - keep in mind that far from all images are free to use as they are protected by copyright law. If your work is to be published in UB's digital academic archive, DiVA, or shown to the public elsewhere, like at the internet or in an exhibition, you usually need permission from the copyright holder. At this page, you will find more information about images and copyright.

What is a copyright license?

Anyone who has created an image, or other work, can provide it with a copyright license that shows how the work may be used by others. Creative Commons is an unprofit organisation that offers a system of such licenses to use for free.
